Program of intercultural education of the public servants who are occupied with issues of medical care of the obedients of third countries to hospitals of Attica or Thessaloniki.
The aim of this program is that the beneficiaries, the doctors, the nurse and the administrative personnel acquire specialized knowledge and develop suitable skills .In this way, they contribute to the amelioration of working conditions and to the better service of immigrants. More specifically, the beneficiaries get knowledge about the particular problems, both psychological and physical , immigrants cope with . In addition, priority of the program consists the amelioration of their communicative skills aiming to the unhindered execution of their duties in an atmosphere of solidarity and humanism. In conclusion, the program succeeds the sensibilisation of the beneficiaries on issues of multiculturalism and of the essential service of the immigrants. The long-term benefit of the program is to integrate and incorporate immigrants to the Greek society taking into consideration the social providence and the right to health and to medical prevention. The program consists of educational seminars of 40 hours each and they take place to the hospitals of Attica and Thessaloniki from January 2010 until June 2010. These seminars to 800 employees of the public hospitals of Attica and Thessaloniki. The program focuses on the intercultural training of the administrative personnel of public hospitals who face many problems in communication with immigrants due to the particularities which impede the provision of medical care.
