Health for Undocumented Migrants and Asylum Seekers

The HUMA is a supportive, active network of national and European level. It consists of 12 NGOs in Europe and a steering group placed in Paris, Brussels and Madrid. The purpose of HUMA Network is to promote equal access of migrants and asylum seekers in the European Union.

HUMA Network members develop activities related to health and immigration, aimed specifically at undocumented migrants and asylum seekers. Also, participating countries are leading various programs and campaigns and legal support at national and European level, contributing thus to scientific integrity and intelligence of the network. In this part of the network different agencies and offices of Doctors of the World from Europe ARE involved. The work of most of them is about the supply of primary care and actions to inform and defend the rights of these populations.

Head of the Program is the French Delegation of Doctors of the World, along with Spanish and Belgian.

In 2011, HUMA Network will publish a survey of all recent data on the situation in 9 more countries: Greece, Austria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovenia.
