Ophthalmological careSince 2006, Médecins du Monde operates the “IRIS” project by providing specialised medical care, as ophthalmologic care, for the populations of remote areas of Greece. A Mobile Ophthalmological Unit, well equipped, realises visits to geographically isolated areas of Greece aiming at the diagnostic and preventive ophthalmological check. The ophthalmological check-up includes children and adults and especially elderly people as they suffer from serious chronic ophthalmological problems. The Mobile Unit is donated by the “Stavros Niarchos Foundation” and the program is funded by Alpha Bank.
