Summary description of the action and the services provided
The non-profit association ” Médecins du Monde – Greek Representation” in the framework of Subproject (1) “Dormitory” of the Act “Existing Homeless Structure of the Municipality of Athens: Dormitory” with code MIS 5002818, in the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) of Attica 2014 – 2020, under Priority Axis 09, which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), is recruiting, with a fixed-term employment contract, the following staff.
The aim of the project is the empowerment and social integration of the socially vulnerable, especially the homeless and people in poverty in the Municipality of Athens, through housing, psychosocial support and information activities, which will be provided by the Homeless Shelter’s Facility to the beneficiaries. In this light, the operation aims to alleviate and gradually address the effects of poverty and social exclusion suffered by a large part of the population affected by the socio-economic crisis.
The facility includes the continuation of the operation of the Homeless Shelter by Doctors of the World in the Municipality of Athens. It is being implemented as a continuation of a social structure with experienced staff already employed and with the provision of additional staff support based on a call for expressions of interest to be made public. The project deliverables include the provision of safe housing for the homeless population, in a 55-bed capacity structure divided into male and female dormitories, with provision of psychosocial support and nursing care to the beneficiaries.
The specific operating specifications of the structures are defined in the relevant document “DESCRIPTION OF THE STAFFING OF THE FACILITIES AND THE RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE”, of the Special Management Service of the Operational Programme of the Region of Attica.
Period of employment
The selected candidate will be employed at the Médecins du Monde Homeless Shelter from the date of his/her recruitment until 31/12/2023 with the possibility of renewal. The recruitment may be cancelled or postponed until the period of filling the post.
