Access to Health Care

Folegandros Clinic

The Folegandros Clinic of Médecins du Monde has been operating since April 2016, aiming to cover the medical needs of the permanent residents of the island, as well as the residents of three neighbouring islands, Sikinos, Herakleia and Koufonisia, through visits to them..

The Folegandros Clinic is properly equipped and staffed with qualified and experienced medical and nursing personnel. Both residents and visitors of the island can receive primary health services. In addition, the cost of contributions for the pharmaceutical needs of the needy residents of the island is covered. At the same time, free medical examinations (including general blood tests, biochemical tests, electrocardiograms and ultrasound scans) are provided to residents who wish to have them, while special emphasis is placed on home visits to residents with mobility difficulties.
